My name is Josiah Lane, and I am a data analyst. This is my website, which serves as my portfolio and business page (and which I made myself as well!).

About Me

Q: What’s a data analyst?

A: A data analyst is someone that takes information, like orders or sales data for a company, and visualizes and interprets it. A good analyst can provide key insights for the company’s business decisions, which can be incredibly profitable in the right hands.

I’ve been programming and working with data for over fifteen years, and have recently moved into data analysis. I’m both an IBM- and Microsoft-certified data analyst, and have performed analyses for individuals and companies. I’m experienced with a variety of data analysis tools and programming languages, including Excel, Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Google Sheets, Python, Go, SQL, and others.

A: I perform and train in all steps in the data analysis and visualization process. This includes:

In my spare time, I enjoy programming, creating and playing video games, playing the guitar, making music, writing, and volunteering in my local community.

Above: a medical tracker I assisted with. This client required a tracker that would allow them to track different medical departments and follow their success rates at following established medical procedures.

Above: a Profits and Loss dashboard for a client that wanted to be able to see his data from both an overview and in detail. I created various dashboards for his key metrics, and a view to compare months against each other.

Above: a dashboard showing various civilizations’ lifespans, and the reasons for their collapses. I developed this using Tableau Public, which means it’s accessible from any device over the internet. You can view and interact with this dashboard here.
